After two full-on days of hammering down rain and thundery grey-cloud skies, we were tempted to spend a Sunday afternoon in front of the fire, but when we glimpsed a break of blue and white fluffiness in the sky, we grabbed coats and wellies and headed for High Force waterfall.
On the way there was amazing light in the Lune Valley, especially on Mickle Fell…
When we got to High Force itself, the rain was coming back our way, but the waterfall was truly spectacular – all thundering noise, splattering spray and total sensory overload. Well worth the trip out.
Evenn the little sidestream on the walk to the fall itself was lovely!
