Apologies to all my friends, readers and those of you who’ve taken the time to comment on my somewhat sporadic posts over the past few weeks – since moving house we have, of course, been waiting for our internet connection, and it has, of course, taken much longer than we had hoped… However, we’re online now…

A lazy day in the garden. At least for some…

We’ve been exploring the area around our new home and further afield, discovering great places to walk and climb, and – despite the restrictions caused by my now having an (almost) full-time job – we’ve managed to get out and about quite a bit, as well as making our new house a home.

A few highlights that spring to mind include climbing at Craig yr Aderyn while watching choughs wheeling and calling overhead, walking in the woods at Maentwrog with trains from the Ffestiniog railway steaming by, finally walking over the Pontcysyllte aqueduct, happening across a new hatching of green hairstreaks on our morning walk, spending a day in the sunshine in the garden and, most recently, exploring a bit of the Llyn Peninsula, where we found a quiet, dog-friendly beach, which Bertie loved – I think there are some things about Shetland that he misses…
